Hike #23 - February 28, 2021

Woke up this morning to a flood, with water pouring into my bedroom from behind the wall.

Fuck it, I went hiking anyway.

There are hints of green, but also signs that we are still deep in winter.

It's good to be out. I was stuck at home the weekend before because of car issues. It was a long weekend that contained both V-day and Family Day and it was painful.

We went a little off trail as we hit the south end of Forks of the Credit Provincial Park and found the remains of a coyote kill. It took some time but I was eventually able to identify it as a white-tailed deer. I was not expecting such a heavy coat but it makes sense for a winter coat for an animal. I hope the coyotes enjoyed their meal.

Stats:

starting near marker 8.9

ending near marker 16.1

total hiked today: 7.2 x 2 (14.4)

total Bruce Trail hiked since starting: 149.7 km
