Back to Caledon to finish it off!
I arrive, park and get ready to listen to podcasts while I hike. Except I replaced my phone this week and am just now learning it does not have a headphone jack. At all.
Since this starts off with a road stretch, I call MME and complain about this fact and she tries to troubleshoot with me...can I carry my phone in my pocket and listen? This seems rude, but I do it for the first stretch once I'm off the road and faced with THIS:
This hike gives me lots of great terrain: road, then rock, then road, then into Mono Cliffs PP where I find the sign marking the end of Caledon Hills and the start of Dufferin Hi-lands
Mono Cliffs is nice and not too busy, though there are some muddy patches before long. I spend some time at this pond. My new camera takes some excellent shots and panoramas.
This is one of those hikes where I start off in layers, including a toque, and gradually need to strip down as I go.
I'm writing this a week after the hike and not too much stands out about it but that's also because I've done 2 other hikes since then and this isn't as fresh. I really need to get better at writing about the hike within a day so it's still fresh.
But look! Spring stuff! I've hiked through fall and winter and have arrived at spring.
Stats:
starting near marker 68 (Caledon)
ending near marker 3.1 (Dufferin Hi-lands)
total hiked today: 6.4 km x 2
total Bruce Trail hiked since starting: 224.9 km
