With Caledon Hills done, I'm back to Iroquoia.
It's even more apparent that spring is here, between the things popping out of the soil AND the mud.
I'm glad I got an early start for this hike, as it takes me past both the bottom of Devil's Punchbowl Falls (I avoid the side trail to the top of the falls) and Felkers Falls.
The area is quite urban, so I do hear traffic at times, and there are train tracks that run alongside the trail.
I see a number of birds along this hike, including a Cooper's Hawk, turkey vultures and red-tailed hawk. Sadly, I also find a dead muskrat at the bottom of Devil's Punchbowl.
The mud drags me out on the way back and I'm glad I've planned this to be a shorter hike of 15 km. Soaring temps mean I can strip down to just a bra for the last stretch and I take a body shot that really makes me feel that I need to start doing sit-ups. My body is still adjusting to rapid weight loss.
